JELENTKEZÉS:

- A Sapientia EMTE és a BBTE joghallgatói és végzett jogászok jelentkezhetnek (összesen max. 20 fő).

- Az előadásokon való részvétel ingyenes. A jelentkezés feltételezi, hogy a hallgató a program egészén részt vesz, és amennyiben nem, a jelentkezésével vállalja 150 euró, illetve végzett jogászok esetében 350 euró költségtérítés megfizetését (nem alkalmazandó, ha a kimaradásnak megfelelő orvosi papírral alátámasztott egészségügyi okai vannak).

- A képzés elvégzéséről a résztvevők diplomát (participation certificate) kapnak.

- Az angol nyelv megfelelő ismerete előfeltétel.

- Jelentkezni 2012. október 15-ig, a piri[kukac]sapientia.ro e-mail címen lehet (az e-mail-nek tartalmaznia kell a jelentkező teljes nevét, személyi igazolvány számát, állandó és kolozsvári lakcímét, személyi számát, e-mail címét és mobil telefonos elérhetőségét, az egyetem elnevezését és az évfolyamot).

- Várható terhelés: hetente háromszor 2 óra előadás a kurzus időtartama alatt (hétvégén nem lesznek előadások).

- A jelentkezők október 16-án visszaigazolást kapnak a jelentkezés elfogadásáról vagy elutasításáról. A  végleges résztvevői lista október 17-én kerül közlésre.

Jeffrey C. Rubenstein
AT WORK

Jeffrey C. Rubenstein, an accomplished business lawyer with over 30 years of experience in tax, corporate and real estate matters, represents a variety of firms in the venture and middle markets. They comprise a broad array of businesses, among them public and private manufacturing, investment banking and financial services, health care, real estate and technology.

Jeffrey helps clients develop, form and create new businesses and ventures, including tax and financial structures. He has supported the growth of these entities by assisting in capital formation through private placements and public offerings, as well as advising clients in mergers and acquisitions. He has planned and developed successful programs for business and technology venture and real estate investments. Jeffrey's relationship with investment bankers, venture capital funds and private investment capital has facilitated many successful business enterprises.

IN THE PROFESSION

Jeffrey has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Chicago-Kent College of Law since 1977 and has taught Advanced Taxation of Business Transactions, Partnership Taxation and Negotiations. He has been a regular speaker, moderator, and writer/author on taxation, real estate and securities topics at professional, academic and industry programs sponsored by such entities as the Wharton School of Business, Kellogg School of Business, University of Michigan Graduate School of Business, Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Indiana CPA Society, Indiana Bar Association, Illinois CPA Society, California State Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Express Business Services, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, LLP, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, McGladrey & Pullen, Practicing Law Institute, National Association of Realtors and the Real Estate Investment Association.

Jeffrey is the lead co-author of a three-volume treatise titled Limited Liability Companies-Law, Practice & Forms, published by West Publishing. He is also co-author of Partnership Income Tax, a publication of the CCH Federal Tax Service. Jeffrey served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Real Estate Securities. He has authored and edited numerous journal articles in the fields of taxation, real estate and corporate law.

Jeffrey has been an active member of the American Bar Association (Committee on Federal Taxation, Subcommittee on Legislation). Jeffrey serves as chair of the National Real Estate Investment Association's Committee on Taxation.

Jeffrey has been recognized by the Leading Lawyers Network as a top Illinois lawyer in the areas of closely and privately held business law, mergers and acquisitions, and business tax law (2003-2012). He also sits on the advisory board for the Leading Lawyers Network. In multiple years since 2005, he was designated an Illinois Super Lawyer, an honor given to the top 5% of attorneys in the state.

Jeffrey has been a member on the board of directors of several public corporations, as well as various private corporations.

IN THE COMMUNITY

Jeffrey has been a leader in civic and charitable causes for many years. He continues to serve on the board of directors of the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, having done so since its inception in Chicago. He also is a member of the international board of directors of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society and Chairman of its Young Leadership and Scholarship committees.

Jeffrey is a past member of the board of directors of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, and presently serves on various JUF committees (including the Finance Committee and its Subcommittee, which is responsible for the investment of its Endowment). He is a past member of the United Jewish Appeal National Young Leadership Cabinet. Jeffrey also served as an officer and director of the Jewish Family and Community Services, the Council on Jewish Workplace Issues and several other civic and charitable organizations.

For his public service to the community, the U.S. Jaycees selected Jeffrey as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America. His charitable efforts earned him the Jewish United Fund's Young Leadership Award and the Jewish Family and Community Service's Sidney J. Berkowitz Leadership Award.
